The Good Shepherd Church Communications Centre was officially opened by Rev. Fr. Simon Tang on the 18th December 1988. It was a project initiated by the Parish Co-ordinating Council, managed by the Young Shepherds. A protem committee headed by Bro. John Fernandez, with the help of members from the Young Shepherds and a few parish councillors, took the responsibility of setting up this centre. After 2 months of intensive work,
the centre was successfully opened and the management was then handed over
to the new Young Shepherds committee. It was called the Communications

The objective of the centre was to
provide a wide range of Christian orientated material such as videotapes,

the Parishioners. This is with the aim of helping Parishioners to fully
understand what they SEE, HEAR, and READ in their daily lives;
in the process build Christian Faith, Unity and Brotherhood among the parishioners.
In 1989, the centre was transformed into a full-fledged Ministry. The management of the Ministry was handed to a Parish Pastoral Council member - the Co-ordinator of the Ministry. its horizon, and became more involved in Parish activities such as the

In late 1990, a treasurer and a secretary
was appointed to manage financial and secretarial responsibilities.
The thrust of the Committee for the
next two years was focussed on Media Awareness. A two-year plan was scheduled
to head towards this new direction.
